John Krasinski Pitches Idea for ‘The Office’ Revival – and We Want It So Badly (Exclusive Video)

Although John Krasinski still hasn’t gotten a phone call about a potential reboot of “The Office,” he has an idea about what would be the perfect way to get the gang back together.
“I would totally be interested!” Krasinski said when asked Sunday about the potential of a revival at TheWrap’s SXSW interview studio. “I still have yet to get a call. I am surprised that after ‘Ellen’ and all that — I haven’t gotten a call, so I haven’t heard anything about it, other than on the internet — the internet is making the show. Twitter is shooting ‘The Office’ reboot. I don’t know if any of us are going to be a part of it!”
In all seriousness, the actor, who headed to SXSW with his new film “A Quiet Place” — which he co-wrote, stars in and directed — said, “that show for me was, obviously, the greatest experience. It’s given me everything, absolutely every opportunity, and it is the thing that has allowed me to do all this other stuff.”

He added, “Every single day, people said, ‘By the end, were you guys kind of tired of each other?’ I was like, ‘No no no, we had the most fun up until the last day.’ I would love to play with those guys again and do something. It really comes down to the idea… the original British show, the best thing was they had a Christmas episode — it was a one-off. I would love to do that. I think it would be a sort of ‘Where Are They Now’ kind of thing. That would be really fun.”
In December, reports circulated that NBC was eyeing a revival of the beloved comedy, but Michael Scott (Steve Carell) would not be returning to the series. According to TVLine, the series would premiere sometime this year.
Jenna Fisher, who played Jim’s love interest in the show, said she’d be game for a reboot, but she said she hadn’t been approached yet either. Likewise, Angela Kinsey, who played Angela on the show, called out NBC and asked the network to call her and fellow costar Creed Bratton.

Every “The Office” fan has their favorite episode, and it turns out that Krasinski, who played fan darling Jim Halpert on the sitcom that ran from 2005 to 2013, loved one moment in particular.
Fans of the show know that Jim had a complicated relationship with his coworker Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson), one frequently resulted in outlandish pranks and constant competition. But deep down, there was a profound sense of love and friendship between the two.
“I have so many favorite moments, but I think I’d say as far as pranks go, my favorite prank (it’s a weird, small one) was putting nickels in the phone and slowly weighting down the phone and then taking them all out so he [Dwight] hit himself in the face,” he said. “I don’t know why that was one of the more genius — evil genius — but one of the most genius things I’ve ever read when the writers wrote that. It made me laugh so hard.”
Let’s make it happen, NBC.

The name of the challenge derives from the number of veterans who commit suicide daily in the U.S.
